Download a package of CGU logos for use in print or digital formats. If you are working with a vendor, the vendor will let you know what format of logo you need to deliver to them. If you need a specific logo lock-up for a school or other academic unit, please contact Gina Pirtle.

Before using the logos, review the policy on the proper use of CGU’s visual identity. You can also read more about CGU’s visual identity here. In particular, note that the logo may not be redrawn, reconstructed, or modified in any way.

Included in the logo package:

High Quality, 4/Color Print

  • USES: digital print, offset print, print advertising, or dye-sublimated fabric (such as tablecloths)
  • CMYK color profile, vector file (.AI or .EPS format)
  • CMYK, AI vector files are the preferred format for high-quality print. Vector files are infinitely scalable and will always stay crisp.

Silkscreening or 2/Color Print (spot color)

  • USES: silk screened t-Shirts, silk screened tablecloths, silk screened swag, embroidery, 2/color print jobs
  • Spot color profile, vector file (.AI or .EPS format)
  • PMS 7621 + Black or PMS 7621 + White
  • PMS (spot color), .AI vector files are the preferred format for high quality print. Vector files are infinitely scalable and will always stay crisp.

Web, Email, or Microsoft Products

  • USES: web, email, Microsoft products, video
  • RGB color profile, raster file (.JPG or .PNG format)
  • Raster files cannot be scaled up larger than their original size. They will start to pixelate if enlarged, so this format is not best option for print.
  • We use RGB .PNG as our default for web and email as it looks crisper than a .JPG and the background can be dropped out.
  • Microsoft products will only support .JPG or .PNG format successfully (vector files can be imported into Microsoft products but will not print well). We are using the .PNG format as our default raster file only because the background can be dropped out of this format which makes it the most versatile for most of CGU staff/faculty working in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • .PNG files can only be RGB color profile.

Note:

  • The .PNG format is for screen (web and email). Technically, it is an entirely incorrect format to use in any print production files. Not only does .PNG not support CMYK, many Raster Image Processors (RIPs) do not understand the format and will choke on it when trying to output.
  • The correct raster formats to use for high quality print would be CMYK .PSD, .TIFF, or .JPG
