The Office of Marketing & Communications provides websites for CGU students to promote their scholarly work and achievements, in keeping with university brand standards.
Websites for both faculty and graduate students are hosted on scholar.cgu.edu, and use the Claremont Graduate University approved template.
Student websites are available for advanced PhD students who have completed their coursework and qualifying examinations and are working on their dissertations, master’s degree students who are working on their master’s thesis or capstone project, and other students who are nominated by their department or school.
Students who are given a personal website on scholar.cgu.edu are expected to be familiar with and abide by the Student Website Governance policy.

Your website should be a professional tool that you use to promote your scholarly work and achievements. It should be focused on your research interests and other career-focused elements. As your site will contain the CGU brand, it should contain the type and quality of content associated with a graduate institution.
All content on student websites is subject to review by the MarCom team at any time for adherence to university standards. In particular, please review the section on copyright issues in the Student Website Governance policy.
Your website hosted on CGU’s domain should not be for personal purposes only. While it is acceptable to include biographical or personal information about yourself, it should not solely be used for personal or casual purposes. If you just want a personal website, there are plenty of free resources on the web.
All websites on scholar.cgu.edu use the CGU template, which contains the CGU logo and address; the design of the site header and footer are fixed. Within the body of these templates, there are multiple opportunities to add images and video, and post files such as PDFs. The flexibility of the template will give you many design options depending on your needs.
We’ve created an easy process for you to set up a website yourself. Just go to scholar.cgu.edu to get started.
CGU will maintain your website for 6 months after graduation. We will send you (via your CGU alumni email address) a reminder approximately 2 weeks before your site is taken offline, so you can move any remaining content that you wish to keep. We encourage you to use your website as part of your toolkit while searching for post-graduation employment.
